My name is Anna Hinkema and I’ve been in the African Art business since 1998, when I started a small shop and gallery in Groningen in the north of the Netherlands.

From 1995, I’ve visited East Africa and West Africa frequently. Every year i’ve traveled in search of authentic objects.

The objects are strictly chosen according to their aesthetic quality and their authenticity. For me just enjoying the piece of art is very important. Sometimes this is more important to me than understanding the cultural significance.

I’m proud of my choice of masks and sculptures as well as tribal objects from various cultures of Africa.
